About Us

Who We Are

PAW was formed in response to the needs of the School of Physics at Georgia Tech. We are a group of graduate students who are dedicated to improving the climate of the SoP and are here to listen to your concerns. We are available at various preset times or by appointment, and hope to be your first line of communication for any personal or academic concerns. We do not promise that we can solve your problem, but we will provide a listening ear, and should you desire it, we can take the issue to other members of the department anonymously to see if the matter can be resolved.

Concerns

PAW mentors have taken safe space trainings in order to best serve your needs. Any issues you have regarding gender issues, classroom policies, mental health, or interpersonal relationships can be fielded by our mentors. We recommend you read each mentor’s bio before deciding who to approach, so that you feel most comfortable. Please do not email their gatech.edu account with personal information, as all of Georgia Tech’s records can be publicly accessed at any time. Only email them to set up an appointment to talk in person or online.

Mandated Reporting

We are not mandated reporters unless you are one of our students. If you would not like your issue to be reported to the Title IX office, please do not approach a TA for one of your classes if they are a PAW Mentor. Feel free to approach any of the other PAW mentors who are not your TA.

If you are silent about your pain, they will kill you and say you enjoyed it
